money as energy, money as liberation
"The Hebrew word Tzedakah is one of my favorites to highlight the connection between finances and spirituality. Often translated as meaning charity, it really means something more like distributing your money in a way that aligns with divine reality. Divine reality is that every living being deserves care, safety, agency, and the resources to make it happen."
—Jessie Susannah Karnatz, The Money Witch
SNAKESKIN's statement on reciprocity
Dear reader,
This beautiful quote reflects the divine truth that money is not just currency; it is energy, meant to move in service of care, safety, and liberation.
Since long before I had words for it, I have been committed to redistributing resources in alignment with this divine reality.
When I first offered my underpriced drawing commissions back in 2020, I made sure to donate a portion (15-30%) of the proceeds to urgent causes, such as Yemen Aid, Black Lives Matter, and local community support funds. No one told me to do it; it simply felt right.
And while my capacity to give fluctuates, my commitment to giving never wavers.
a vision of radical redistribution
I hold a vision for a future where I am so abundantly resourced that I can give freely and consistently—without hesitation, without limitation. A future where I can:
✨ fund grants for disadvantaged creatives
✨ offer free or low-cost community workshops to increase access to transformative tools
✨ directly support community members in urgent need
✨ uplift and sustain those who are where I am today
I dream big, and I trust that this is not just a vision. It is a reality in the making. :)
money as flow
To me, money is energy. It does not belong to anyone. It is an energetic resource that moves freely when in alignment and can become stagnant when hoarded or blocked.
I am committed to being a responsible, flexible steward of the wealth that flows my way — allowing it to breathe, circulate, and return to the collective in ways that create meaningful impact.
This commitment is personal. It is a direct reclamation: a breaking of generational cycles in my ancestral line of feminine repression, a defiance of patriarchal systems, and a deep embodiment of my nonbinary identity.
I hope this vision resonates with you.
What does reciprocity mean to you? How do you cultivate abundance in your life?
